Redthread – Youth Worker

We are looking for an exceptional youth worker with proven ability to work with vulnerable young people, and the capacity to form effective working relationships with a wide range of partners and agencies. This is an exciting opportunity to help develop a much needed service for vulnerable young people.

The King’s Adolescent Outreach Service (KAOS) is a brand new service, and will support 16 to 19 year olds who are being treated in adult wards across King’s College Hospital sites. The youth worker on the team will work with clinicians to help support medical and surgical teams to care for young people in an age appropriate way, making sure their medical, emotional, legal and social needs are being met.

Salary: £26,000-£28,000

We are looking for an outstanding individual with strong leadership skills, experience of managing and developing a service, proven ability to work with high risk, vulnerable young people, and the ability to form effective working relationships with a wide range of partners and agencies.

The purpose of this role is to lead on the day-to-day management of the Youth Violence Intervention Programme in the Midlands, to ensure that the needs of young people, staff, partners, communities, funders, and evaluators are fully considered and that Redthread is well placed to achieve its vision.

Salary: £32,000-£40,000

Safe Ground – Freelance Facilitator

Safe Ground is an educational charity using drama techniques to engage and motivate prisoners to participate in education and family life. Our courses are delivered in 24 prisons nationwide. In the next few years we want to ensure the widest possible awareness and uptake of our programmes.

We are currently interested in recruiting freelance group facilitators for work in prisons in East Midlands. You will be responsible for delivery, in the first instance, of the Fathers Inside programme with a view to delivering additional Safe Ground programmes as required. Designed ‘by prisoners, for prisoners’, the programmes’ drama based methodology is integral to opening up a strategic pathway for learners who traditionally struggle in a classroom setting.

Salary: £180-£250 p/d depending on experience and function
