The programme ‘Transforming Lives: Reducing women’s imprisonment’ is a Prison Reform Trust drive supported by a major grant from the Big Lottery Fund, to reduce the number of women who are unnecessarily sent to prison across the UK.

We are looking for an exceptional person for the role of executive assistant to the programme head, additionally providing support to the Transforming Lives team. This is a full-time contract, on a fixed-term basis, from August 2018 to October 2019. The programme is now well established and this position requires a person with the energy, skills, commitment and drive to help the work to reduce women’s imprisonment in the UK.

Salary: circa £28,000 pa

The programme is now well established and this position requires a person with the commitment, skills and drive to continue the work to reduce women’s imprisonment in the UK.

Prisoners’ Education Trust – Participation Officer

PET is a highly regarded and long-established national charity combining service delivery and advocacy. We support prisoners to engage in rehabilitation through learning by providing access to a broad range of distance learning opportunities and related services.

PET is looking for someone with experience of serving time in prison to facilitate a short-term project aimed at developing active citizenship among prisoners. The role will involve planning and running ‘learner voice’ workshops in two prisons, and analysing findings.

We have recently piloted a small series of workshops in an open prison. This post will help us to revise and develop this approach further by facilitating two further pilots in different prisons.

Salary: £2,750 | Part time, temporary (20 days in total)

This is an exciting opportunity for a ‘service user/participant voice’ expert to further strengthen the voices of the people we work with in prisons across London and the South-East. In order to drive forward the practice of listening and responding to our programme participants, we would like to work with a professional who has experience of setting up successful advisory boards, preferably within the criminal justice system (prisons, YOIs, YOTs, etc).
